Debra Jean McBroom Nichols, 60 of Golf Course Road, Amsterdam, NY; passed away at home Sunday morning July 10, 2016 with her loving family by her side.
Born in Schenectady, NY on July 2, 1956, she was the daughter of Robert William McBroom who survives and the late Margaret Esther Johnston McBroom
.
Debra received her education and graduated from Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School.
Debra was employed as an Administrative Assistant at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY.
She was a member of the Ladies Book Club in Amsterdam and also enjoyed skiing, baking, reading, crafting, spending time with her amazing family and friends.
Debra is also survived by her husband, Robert Nichols, three daughters, Tina Rae Pickrell, Melissa Lee Uebrick (Chris) and Christine Marie Nichols (Elijah) all of Amsterdam, NY. One brother, Darryl McBroom (Jan), two sisters, Ann Woods (Dennis) and Mary Hawkinson (Sean), four precious grandchildren, Manion, Declan, Darius and Tatiana. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday July 16, 2016 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY.
Cremation was held at Parkview Crematory in Schenectady, NY.
