Aimee Dara Wilson, of Amsterdam NY, aged 35, went home to be with the Lord on July 13, 2016 after courageously fighting Cushing’s syndrome for several years.
Aimee is the treasured daughter of Dan and Jill Wilson of Amsterdam, NY, precious sister of Daniel Wilson of Schenectady, NY and of Melinda Wilson of Connecticut, aunt to her golf cart co-driver, Ava Wilson, of Guilderland, NY, and furry mommy to her dog Mokka. Aimee also has an extensive group of wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends of whom she loved dearly.
Sweet Aimee Dara’s big heart and kindness towards all things from animals and people to nature would often result in adoption of goats to pheasants. As an avid lover of hiking and camping in the Adirondacks, Aimee especially enjoyed the camp in Hague, NY. She is also known as a car enthusiast and an excellent manual stick shift driver, a creative cook with interesting food couplings, and loved being social with family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
Aimee will be buried at the family plot in Oakwood Cemetery in Troy, NY. Interment will be at 12:00PM Wednesday, July 20th.
Calling hours are Tuesday, July 19th from 4PM to 7PM at Riley Mortuary.
The family requests that donations be made to either to Time for Truth Ministries or the Town of Florida Veterans Memorial Park, so that each organization may plant an oak tree in her honor as Dara means strong oak in Gaelic.
